Senior Spotlights
Throughout my experience at Kettering University, the course rigor has really taught me and has prepared me for the real world. From the collaboration on real-world projects to the hands-on labs to the initiatives we as students take at our Co-ops, the University has prepared me specifically for the Cybersecurity industry. The University has also let me be a leader on campus in various organizations and really let me showcase my leadership qualities to my University and my hometown. Since I will be receiving a degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity and a minor in Pre-Law, understanding the laws around data privacy and understanding governance, risk and compliance is helpful in my career. Additionally, Kettering has given me the opportunity to represent the University as a head delegate at Harvard’s National United Nations Conference. With my expertise in writing technical policies, I brought a unique perspective when presenting and recommending policies related to cybersecurity to various nations.

A Kettering student is someone who is a part of club involvement, who is an IM League Champ, who inspires other students before them to not just take school seriously but also to enjoy their time here. A Kettering student evolves on campus to become the best of oneself.

I have a future-proof career with the experience I have received at Kettering, but also like in my Co-op, I don’t see myself ever not being needed. I’ll always be able to find a job and find a community that I’ll be able to work in and benefit the team.

I think Kettering set me up in a really good spot for my upcoming career. Specifically the co-op experience I’ve received at Kettering is unbeatable to any other college experience I’ve heard of from my peers that go to other schools. So I think going into full-time work with that experience under my belt gives me a leg up on others.
- Andrew Dixon '23,
The co-op program for sure has prepared me for my career. I know what to expect when I walk into my full-time jobs someday as well as what I do and don’t want to have in my career someday. So that has really given me a leg up over all the other students that will be graduating in this coming year. And with the course load, I really learned how to manage my time and when to say “yes” and “no” to different projects.

What makes the Kettering student? Kettering students are tough; they’re Kettering built, right? They know what jobs are going to come their way. We’ll go to school then make sure we do that job no matter what.
