Mission
The Department of Residence Life at Kettering University is committed to designing and maintaining a caring environment that encourages academic success, individual respect, personal growth and responsibility to one’s community. We pledge to accomplish this in a way that supports the mission of Kettering University and meets the ethical performance guidelines of the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International.
About Thompson Hall
Frances Willson Thompson Hall is a four-story, on-campus residence facility for Kettering University.
Room Layout
Every student gets a single-room at Thompson Hall. Each room includes:
- Single bed
- Desk & Desk chair
- Dresser
- Bookshelf
- Microfridge
Residents share community bathrooms, located at hallway intersections and cleaned weekly by custodial staff. See the Guide to Residence Life for more details on room layout.
Lounge Areas
The Thompson Hall lobby is a convenient place for large study groups. The lobby also has an extensive collection of board games and puzzles for students to use, along with two large TVs that can be used to watch movies or play video games. There are six smaller lounges located throughout the building that offer students private work spaces.
Community Kitchen
Located on the second floor of Thompson Hall is the Community Kitchen. Residents may use the kitchen to prepare basic meals at their convenience.

Dining Locations
Students are able to use their meal plan at the following places.
Sunrise Cafe
The Sunrise Cafe, in the Campus Center, is Kettering's main dining hall. Students can have breakfast, lunch and dinner, and can access the daily menu using the Bite app on their phone; available on iOS and Android devices.
The hours for the cafe are:
Monday - Friday
Breakfast: 7:15 - 9:30 a.m.
Continental Breakfast: 9:30 - 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 5 - 6:30 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday
Brunch: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
BJ's Lounge & Grill
BJ's Lounge, on the first floor of the Campus Center, serves as a late-night dining option. The lounge has collaborative work spaces that allow students to connect to larger monitors, plus pool tables and a big screen TV. BJ's is open 24/7 for students. Food is served:

Einstein Bros. Bagels
There is an Einstein Bros. Bagels on campus located at the corner of University and Chevrolet Avenues, across from the Campus Center, and is open:

7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Sunset C-Store
The C-Store, on the second floor of the Campus Center, provides students an opportunity to purchase snacks, First AID items and official Kettering gear. The C-Store is open:

8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday
