Kettering University's LEGO masterpiece won the Third Annual College Town LEGO Competition Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Flint Institute of Arts. It is the second year in a row that the Kettering LEGO team gets to bring the traveling trophy to campus.
This year's Kettering entry was inspired by Edvard Munch's "The Scream," Which was presented in LEGOs on a 45 degree tilt that impressed the judges for originality and design.
The 2013 Kettering team members were:
Mark Nogle, ME senior from Royal Oak;
Aaron Hoffman, IE senior from Gurney, Ill.;
Jonathan Wigger, EE senior from Holland; and
Drew Raftopoulos, ME/EE senior from Rochester Hills,
The Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) hosted the annual “Create Your Own Masterpiece” intercollegiate LEGO challenge. Judges awarded the top prize to Kettering's entry, but voters were able to vote on the People’s Choice Award.
The event is organized by FIA’s College Town Student Advisory Council, which is advised by FIA's Janice Henry.
