Attention all Robots: Kettering University and the current members of the Robot Society would like to invite you to a reunion celebration from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, during Homecoming Weekend in Room 5-200 in the Campus Center. All current and past Robots are welcome to enjoy snacks and beverages and reminisce with fellow members.
“I think that this will be a great event to socialize and meet the past top students of Kettering,” said Christopher Oskoian, 2014 Inductee in the Robot Society. “The Robot Honor Society consists of one percent of the University's population and its best and brightest leaders. I look forward to meeting and exchanging stories with Kettering's best from the past and today.”
There are approximately 1,200 Robots initiated since its inception in 1927, selected from only the top one percent of the student body. The Robot Society is an exclusive leadership honor society at Kettering that exemplifies exceptional leadership, values and academic performance on campus. The official Robot “dress” includes white gloves to symbolize purity, a red bow tie to indicate that the blood of a leader runs through the veins of a Robot and a cane with the letter “R” inscribed on the topper.
“The Homecoming event allows for current and past Robots to meet and interact with each other face to face, allowing for networking and exchanging stories between old and new friends,” said Savannah Brown, 2014 Inductee in the Robot Society.
The Robot celebration is part of Kettering’s Homecoming Weekend that will feature annual favorites like the car show and faculty poster session as well as the beginning of new traditions, including a Friday evening pub crawl at some of the thriving new establishments in a rapidly revitalizing downtown Flint and an Innovation Super Quest competition for Kettering students.
