Donald G. Rockwell, Kettering University Counsel, was recently elected president of the State Bar of Michigan for the 2017-2018 bar year.
Rockwell will be sworn in as the 83rd president of the more than 45,000-member organization on Thursday, Sept. 28, during its annual meeting known as the SBM NEXT Conference at Cobo Center in Detroit
Along with being University Counsel, Rockwell also practices with Nill Rockwell, PC, focusing on business, municipal, personal injury, and intellectual property litigation, as well as alternative dispute resolution. He is a former president of the Genesee County Bar Association and a former district court judge.
“My colleagues should know that I am simply one of the several members of our organization and that no undertaking can progress forward without the dedication and work of the many. I have a steadfast belief in the absolute commitment of our members to the improvement of our system of justice and ultimately in the basic human sense of fairness for all,” Rockwell said.
Rockwell has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan for forty-one years and Kettering University Counsel for four years.
