Kettering University has appointed Laura M. Allen as Director of the Office of International Programs (OIP).
“I am excited to appoint Laura to this position leading our Office of International Programs,” said Dr. James Zhang, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kettering University. “Laura has a wealth of international experiences that make her a tremendous asset to the University and the OIP in her new role.”
The mission of the Office of International Programs is to enrich Kettering University’s global heritage and enhance its international reputation by engaging the University's faculty, student body, staff, alumni and friends in the pursuit of global understanding and international experiences. The OIP facilitates opportunities for international students, professors, scholars and visitors from around the world.
Previous to her new role, Allen has served as an International Student Coordinator at Kettering since 2016. She has more than 10 years experience in higher education, including as the Director of Multicultural Student Programs at the University of Tulsa and as a Program Advisor in the Division of Enrollment and Student Services at University of Tulsa.
Allen completed a two-year residency program in Sweden and a six-month study abroad program in Italy. She holds a BA in Sociology, Anthropology, and Classics from Kalamazoo College, and an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago.
