I realized that Kettering offered a great educational program and an excellent co-op program.”

When Morgan Williams was looking for colleges to transfer to, Kettering University’s co-op based education model provided an attractive alternative to more traditional colleges.

“I realized that Kettering offered a great educational program and an excellent co-op program,” said Williams, who is majoring in Business Administration and minoring in International Business. “Those were opportunities that I could not find anywhere else.”

Williams, from Holly, Mich., and a Brandon High School graduate, is a junior at Kettering and has a co-op job with Arden Companies, a Michigan-based manufacturer of outdoor products. The experience working for the company has been incredibly valuable, as she’s had the opportunity to fill many different roles, applying what she learns in the classroom in a professional, business setting.

“As a business major, I get to do a lot of work that allows me to get out of the office setting,” she said. “I had the opportunity to research and explore mobile showcases for my company’s future brand launch. It was really exciting to be part of the planning team and to be on that side on the business. I learn so much every work term.”

Kettering has proven to be a good fit for Williams because of more than just the co-op experience, however. She also cites the faculty, her classmates, Greek Life and, “the environment that only Kettering has,” as positives that reinforce her decision to transfer here.

Williams says that students considering transferring should visit Kettering’s campus to see up-close what the University has to offer.

“As a transfer student, I know what it’s like to feel uneasy about picking the right place,” Williams said. “I would encourage all students to visit campus. It’s so important to feel at home or find a school where they feel the right fit. I can honestly say that choosing Kettering was one of the better decisions I have ever made.”
