Kettering University continued to gain national recognition in a wide range of rankings in 2015, highlighting the remarkable outcomes the University produces in its alumni ranks.

“The consistently strong performance by Kettering University in rankings like these is a sign of the increasing focus on evaluating universities by the outcomes they produce,” Kettering University President Dr. Robert K. McMahan said after The Economist ranked the University 59th in the country in its 2015 college rankings. “Kettering graduates go on to become globally successful industry leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs and innovators. PBS Newshour and Business Insider, quoting a Georgetown University study, ranked Kettering 19th in the country for highest alumni salaries 10 years after starting college.

In its first-ever college rankings, The Economist ranked Kettering University 59th overall nationally out of nearly 1,300 colleges and universities analyzed, 16th overall nationally in median earnings of alumni and first overall in Michigan.

Kettering's programs had the following rankings in the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard:

  • Fifth nationally and first in Michigan among four-year engineering programs;

  • First nationally and first in Michigan among four-year computer science programs;

  • 15th nationally and first in Michigan among four-year biological science programs;

  • Second nationally and first in Michigan among four-year physical science programs;

  • First nationally and first in Michigan among four-year mathematics programs;

  • Second nationally and first in Michigan among four-year business programs.

Kettering University was ranked 15th nationally and the Mechanical Engineering program ranked seventh nationally among all non-Ph.D.-granting engineering programs in the 2016 U.S. News and World Report ‘Best Colleges’ edition. Kettering was also ranked 23rd among all universities in the Midwest.

Kettering University was listed 10th in a 2015 CNN Money article ranking the top 10 private universities in the country for return on investment.

In 2015, Money Magazine identified Kettering among 25 universities nationwide where graduates can earn six-figure salaries with just an undergraduate degree.
