Led by the Office of the Provost, Kettering creates an environment driven by excellence in teaching, research, and real-world application. Our academic affairs team prepares students to lead in the rapidly evolving STEM and business landscapes.

Future-Proofing Our Students

Kettering University Provost Dr. James Zhang, along with faculty and deans, implemented a new academic initiative to reshape our programs for a future-focused, interdisciplinary approach. This effort connects existing strengths in mobility, robotics, and cybersecurity to ensure students can make an immediate impact the rapidly changing STEM and business environment.

Kettering leaders identified five key areas known as areas of study for students to focus on: advanced mobility, new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. These fields allow students to explore majors and minors that develop adaptable skills for the careers of tomorrow.

Academics at Kettering go beyond the classroom. Hear from our alumni about their Co-op experience and how it both enhanced their coursework and launched their careers.
