Welcome Section B ... and greetings to the second half of Kettering's freshman class!
Welcome Section B ... and greetings to the second half of Kettering's freshman class! The COMPASS Crew (Campus Orientation Meetings to Prepare for Academic and Social Success) will greet the remainder of the Class of 2001-02 during student orientation Oct. 4-7.
The second half? Yes -- Kettering University is the only institution in the United States that co-ops its entire student body. It does that by splitting all undergraduates into Section A (students report to classes first) and Section B (students report first to professional co-op experiences at 700 corporate partners).
Twelve weeks later -- Section A and Section B students change places. That means, Kettering University is the only institution in the United States that celebrates twice with "the first day of school!"
Orientation, from Oct. 4-7, kicks off the start of the next academic term for freshmen. The COMPASS crew has big plans for the many events to help get Kettering's newest students organized and motivated.
The whole story on Kettering's new orientation program is available at a special web site done by the COMPASS crew at: http://www.kettering.edu/~compass
There are lots of people available at Kettering to get freshmen and upperclassmen settled. Let us know if we can help. Freshmen, visit the http://www.kettering.edu/~compass Returning students, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know your question.
Have a great semester!!!
