Nominate FIRST Teacher of the Year
The deadline is March 18 for robotics teams to recognize the dedication of their teacher/coaches by nominating them for a state award.
WWJ Radio and Kettering University proudly announce a statewide award honoring the “Michigan FIRST Robotics Teacher of the Year.” The award is open to any teacher currently mentoring and coaching a high school FIRST Robotics Team. Teams have an opportunity to reward their teacher’s dedication and inspiration by filling out and submitting the online form. The process also includes online voting. The winning teacher will receive:
- $1,000 cash award from Kettering University,
- an interview on WWJ radio and
- an award to be presented at your school.
“The FIRST in Michiganhigh school robotics program has changed the economic future of our state by pairing high school students with teachers and mentors from business and industry,” said Bob Nichols, director of External Relations at Kettering University. “This is a wonderful opportunity for teams to say thank you and for FIRST to continue to excite students about careers in engineering and the sciences.”

Voting opens Thursday, March 19, and ends Wednesday, March 25
The Michigan FIRST Teacher of the Year Award recipient is announced at the State Finals Competition on Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4.
