Optional Practical Training
Graduate students on an F-1 visa may apply for post-completion Optional Practical Training. It is recommended you apply for OPT before the completion of your degree program. The application may be submitted 90 days prior to the end of your program. You may also submit an application for OPT during the 60 grace period following your program. Failure to meet the deadline may result in loss of the OPT benefit. Please see the F-1 OPT Request Form for more information. Once your OPT request has been granted, a copy of your EAD card, any address changes and your employer's name and address must be sent to the Office of International Programs at international@kettering.edu.
