Prof. Lucy King's cake and punch retirement reception will be held Friday, May 31 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Art Center, AB 4-511. Faculty, staff and students are welcome.
Dr. King will relate to her experience in “staying ahead of the game”. She will describe her philosophy, brief history of her attempts at developing pre-budding industry relevant topics for teaching and research, Starting late 2000's, Dr. King drew parallels linking manufacturing to Healthcare. Distinguished Educational Innovator Bahram Roughani will present, "Innovations in Higher Education: A Voyage and Reflection"
"The greatest achievements of higher education, in particular during the 20th century, are highlighted by the expansion of access and affordability, upward mobility, expansion of middle class, and positive social impacts. The advances in higher education in the past have been achieved based on innovative approaches that have addressed specific needs.
The Computer Science Department will host a colloquium on Tuesday, May 21 in 2-225 AB (Crib-a-thon). Dr. John Geske, Professor and Head of Computer Science, will discuss "US-Ignite (Redux): The promise and future of the next-generation Internet".
This is an updated version of the talk given in January to A-Section students. Faculty and students interested in next-generation technology are welcomed to attend.
