Keeping girls interested in science and math long enough to consider them as careers is the focus of Kamp Kettering, a pre-college program for junior high school girls.

Lasers, acoustics and the hairs on a fruit fly's leg were all part of the introduction to Physics and careers in applied science local high school girls experienced Tuesday, Jan. 24, during a Discover U workshop at Kettering University.

Students from across the U.S., Jamaica and the Bahamas have come to Kettering to get a taste of Science and Engineering careers in Kettering's award-winning pre college program for minorities.
